RFK Jr. stars in new CatholicVote ad for Trump

CV NEWS FEED // CatholicVote on Thursday released a new ad in support of Republican nominee Donald Trump, featuring former 2024 independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a Catholic.

In the ad, Kennedy addresses Catholic voters. “My Catholicism provided the foundation for a lifetime of striving to perfect my personal relationship with God,” he says.

“Two features of Catholicism are the notions of original sin and the concept of a forgiving God,” he continues. “Our job is to strive to perfect ourselves through conscious contact with our Creator, knowing that in human form, we are never going to achieve perfection.”

“We’ll always slip,” he says, “but each time, we get to get up and strive again.”

“The same is true with America,” Kennedy notes. “That hope has led me to support Donald Trump.”

“President Trump has promised to take bold action on our economy, on the border, and on restoring children’s health,” Kennedy states. “The Democratic Party has become the party of war, censorship, and corruption.”

“Catholics may disagree on many issues, but we must find a way to love our children more than we hate each other,” he adds. “I hope you’ll join me in supporting Donald Trump.”

Shortly following the ad’s release, CatholicVote President Brian Burch praised Kennedy, indicating that the former Democrat “understands exactly what’s at stake.”

Kennedy has “paid a heavy personal price for pointing out the truth: The Harris-Walz ticket is the most anti-American ticket in history,” Burch said.

“I’ve had the chance to talk personally with RFK over the last six months,” the CatholicVote president continued. “Last week I hosted him at an event in NYC where we talked for 45 minutes about everything from Making America Healthy Again to praying the Rosary every day growing up.”

“We don’t agree on abortion, and we’ve argued about it,” Burch clarified.

He believes abortion is a tragic choice that many women choose out of desperation, but regrettably believes it should remain legal under some circumstances. We’ve talked together about working to help more women choose life.

Given our divided country, I will never concede or compromise our Catholic belief in the sacredness of all human life. And I will never stop working to convince others of this truth. But I am also committed to building allies with anyone, anywhere, willing to help us build a genuine culture of life.

“Unlike most politicians, RFK is willing to listen, and talk about it,” the CatholicVote president noted. “He is wrestling with the truth.”

“The issues RFK is courageously talking about – Big Pharma, Big Tech, government censorship, and the manipulation of our health are at the heart of the power of Big Abortion,” Burch pointed out:

The culture of death has thrived on lies, manipulation, big pharma, and censorship. We have to break up this entire system – and RFK is willing to help us do that. For this reason, even many Catholic voters are saying, “I love what RFK is saying… I just wish he was more committed to protecting unborn children.” I could not agree more.

Kennedy is the nephew of John F. Kennedy, the 35th president of the United States. The former independent candidate is also the son of the late Sen. Robert F. Kennedy, D-NY. Both RFK’s father and his uncle were assassinated in the 1960s, respectively when he was nine and 14 years old.

The younger Kennedy was a lifelong Democrat until he left the party late last year. He has since emerged as a prominent critic of the Democratic Party and its nominee, Vice President Kamala Harris.

In November 2023, Kennedy’s then-independent run was polling as high as 22%.

On August 23, he suspended his own presidential bid and endorsed Trump – marking the first time he had ever publicly supported a Republican for office.

Kennedy is also well known for his staunch support of healthcare, especially for children, and has popularized the phrase “Make America Healthy Again (MAHA).”

If you want to end abortion, make the father be given the choice.

I agree-the man and woman are equally responsible for the child being conceived-whether the man wants to admit that or not. I’ve never understood why the decision of whether or not an unborn human lives or is a victim of infanticide belongs only to the woman-men should insist on having equal rights to any decision involving their unborn baby. Call that woman’s bluff-have the courts assert the man’s rights to the baby-that is REAL equality and responsibility...

This is insane! Has RFK Jr. ever been inside a church besides a relative’s funeral?

You think no fathers want abortion? In some cases yes, but in many cases they do want an abortion.

I like RFK Jr.

But he was well-known as a pro-choice Democrat.

While we're on the subject, Donald Trump is personally pro-choice.

Trump only became pro-life in 2016 because he wanted to become President.

It doesn't matter. These days, the ones who should be the MOST Catholic, are the LEAST Catholic. (Looking at you, Francis!)

It has nothing to do with liking him, or not. It would make as much sense to be in an ad for HinduVote.

And it's not specifically because of abortion. I just don't see that he ever had anything to do with the Catholic Church, except an occasional funeral. He's never held himself out to be religious, an he probably doesn't even believe in God. It's just puzzling why they would use him.

Take Michael Moore. He probably doesn't agree with the Catholic Church on the issues anymore than RFK Jr., but for some reason he likes to talk about how he goes to his local Catholic Church every week, and likes to have his picture taken doing it. Not sure why he would want to, but for some reason he does.

I don't like him. It's not because he's an ultra lefty, it's just because he's a terrible human being.

Really, not my place to judge. We need all the allies we can get.
