If you consume content related to the coming election, you will find, like most things presented through the modern media lens, 2 completely different realities being presented to you. Now different people viewing the world differently isn’t exactly news.. however if the world view requires you to ignore undeniable and fundamental facts then the world view you are operating from is decidedly wrong, at least on some fundamental issues.
One would have to live under a rock to not understand the legacy broadcast and print media is largely dying. It will likely not truly die, but its influence becomes less and less each year. Looking at a random rating, the nightly news broadcasts of the 3 major networks maybe draw in around 1 million viewers each at best, night among the 25-54 demographic. Yes they still draw in 7 million or so nightly each, but that is highly tilted toward the 55+ demographic. If you were born after 1969, odds are you aren’t tuning into the nightly news. Daily newspapers/digitals continue to decline as well.

Having a healthy skepticism is necessary now more than ever.
Sadly few seem to have that anymore

“If you consume content”
If it’s something I watch or listen to, I don’t “consume” it.
Check dictionary.com. Others have used the word the way you have used it, so I’m not singling you out.
Independent analysts like Megyn Kelly and Tucker Carlson are doing the best objective job today. They have opinions but are open about them and not beholden to anyone.

“What are the stars?’ said O’Brien indifferently. ‘They are bits of fire a few kilometres away. We could reach them if we wanted to. Or we could blot them out. The earth is the centre of the universe. The sun and the stars go round it.’ Winston made another convulsive movement. This time he did not say anything. O’Brien continued as though answering a spoken objection: ‘For certain purposes, of course, that is not true. When we navigate the ocean, or when we predict an eclipse, we often find it convenient to assume that the earth goes round the sun and that the stars are millions upon millions of kilometres away. But what of it? Do you suppose it is beyond us to produce a dual system of astronomy? The stars can be near or distant, according as we need them. Do you suppose our mathematicians are unequal to that? Have you forgotten doublethink?
