The problems inherent in 9-5 M-F in the office are now too many and too great.

Back when employers could make a decent case for being decent and fair to hard-working and loyal employees, and the public schools that you dropped your children off in the morning were not demonic indoctrination centers, well, yeah, maybe it made sense.

These days people know no office-based employer or public school cares about you or your spouse or your children. It makes a big difference in terms of where and how and for whom to put in those kind of in-person office hours. It’s no surprise actual people who can read the tea leaves are balking, some even going semi-John Galt. (Is that the right reference? Been a long time since This Guy read his Ayn Rand lit.)

Well John Galt completely withdrew his electric engine that would power the world off the grid and encouraged other producers to join him to avoid parasitic government looters. There is a three part Atlas Shrugged movie on the streaming services. It’s kind of weird because there three actresses playing Dagny Taggart.

ps

Truth in posting. I worked remotely for the last 10 years of my career. It was great.
