“One neighborhood in Minneapolis called Cedar Riverside has been nicknamed “Little Mogadishu” due to the area’s large concentration of Somali immigrants; Mogadishu is the capital of Somalia. The neighborhood saw a 56% increase in violent crime between 2010 and 2018, according to the Star Tribune.”
They may be in Minneapolis now, but Mogadishu is still in them.
There is literally a convenience store in St. Cloud named “Little Mogadishu”.

I lived in a dorm on the West Bank campus of the U back in the early 80’s. Back then, the Cedar-Riverside area was a combination of college students, 1960’s relics and some U employees. It was liberal - coffee shops, co-ops, small restaurants etc. But it was livable and safe.
There’s no way in hell I’d walk around down there now. The last time I was down that way, I drove on Cedar Avenue. The streets were dirty, the storefronts looked third world and if i didn’t know I was in the US, I might have thought I was in a third world country.
For anyone out there who doesn’t believe that Somalis are a source of increased crime, I dare them to go to the Hennepin County Jail’s inmate roster on the Web.
