“It has allowed the Russian defense industrial base to go on a three shit a day, 24-7 footing that has allowed them to rain death and destruction on civilians in Ukraine with missiles and drones,” What's going on here?

We need to bring back our manufacturing and technology, and turn that foreign cheap labor into an American tax base that can pay for and build these systems.
And that means we may have to make the sacrifice of paying more for our electronic toys.

Cause conflict and enmity around the world. Then run in and breathlessly tell us we need Cold War era defense spending again.
Nice scam. Like the old New Mexico scam, a guy breaks into your house. The next week his cousin knocks on your door selling burglar bars and alarm systems.

Oh, before I forget.
Thanks free traitors. I hope that $.10 you saved on communist made paint brushes makes up for what you did to this country.

Maybe we should send someone to get our left behind equipment in Afghanistan? Maybe stop all of the useless wars for fun and profit?

Nice scam. And that's what it indeed is. Plenty of people around here who fall for it, too, year after year after year.

Why was I sure that California Rep. Jane Harman was a Democrat?
Ambassador Eric Edelman is a George W. Bush toady.
They must be itching for a new fight to gin up their money making cash cow, through the military-industrial complex.
To: laplata
And what would they be fighting for if they did? An Obama third world communist dictatorship? Not exactly something to die for.
To: McGruff
They can start by not giving our weapons away.

Make them account for their current spending. Unless they can do that, do not give them a dollar more.

No... In fact, the interest on the national debt is about to consume half of the annual budget. Present defense spending is already near that. Where will all the rest of govt spending come from? Social Security? Medicare? Welfare? Food stamps? Earmarks?
Oh! Wait! I nearly forgot: the American taxpayer is an unlimited resource! So are their grandchildren and great grandchildren! :^0
