Would an assassination attempt on a country’s leader be considered an act of war? If so, Russia poisoned the Ukrainian president in 2004.

The war should stop, could stop and only the Russians can agree to stop it.
I’m 100% for the war ending. Negotiation should begin now.
I’m not defending Ukraine or against Russia. I’m defending peace.

Because on 23 Feburary, 2022 the Russian Army wasn't in Ukraine, and after this date they were.
They could claim victory. They grabbed several provinces, crush the ukes in them, and taught them a lesson.
The Romans used to throw women and children to the lions in the colosseum. Then it was "sport".
Would you like it better if I said, "Ukraine was completely wrong to force the Russians to have no choice except to attack them. But now Russia has made their point and can declare victory and leave."
WHAT do you think the end goal should be for both sides? Unconditional surrender? Negotiated settlement? Continuation of a war measured in meters?

Carter was a terrible President, but Biden is the most corrupt and incompetent we have ever had. The long term damage may be worse than Carter, only time will tell. The out of control spending, open borders, and the green new deal will have long lasting consequences. The demographic impact of open borders has changed this country forever.

IMHO, every democrat president has been a disaster since Johnson, each in their own unique but also common ways. From LBJ’s social welfare that destroyed the Black family, to Obama’s forcing us to lose out high-value medical insurance, while each one pandered and spent to stay in power or grab back power as an end unto itself.
Sadly, Bush and Dubya were equally too accommodating to this democrat/journalist lust, because they were political appeasers. From Bush’s “no new taxes” to then agreeing to them, to Dubya’s “Islam is a religion of peace”.

Back in the day, these shows were how the media flexed their muscles and power. Guests were invited to be praised or scolded. We had to listen. Now we can speak back to them here.
Of course, Free Republic does this at large.
Tony Snow actually told me the media (at least back in the early 2000s) read this thread to gauge their overall effectiveness.
The powers that be want to prevent Trump from ever going back to the WH. It makes you wonder why they view Trump as such a serious threat that they will do everything, including murder, to stop him.
Our country is in deep trouble. America is being run by an unelected oligarchy. We know neither Biden nor Harris is running the country.

We don’t know everyone who watches this thread but there is no doubt a lot of the right people do and have for some time.
We are light years ahead of most other threads on the web and stay that way 24/7 so this remains the place to be.

If pigs had wings, they could fly. Putin is not going to unilaterally withdraw from Ukraine, especially Crimea. Nor will he relinquish those areas in the Donbass, which were gained by blood and treasure. It is not a coincidence that the areas most heavily dominated by Russian-speaking Ukrainians and who voted overwhelmingly for the ousted Yanukovych are those areas the Russians occupy currently.
The war will end thru negotiation. Both parties must agree to a cessation of hostilities. Ukraine must agree to not joining NATO and whatever concessions may be necessary to end the war. Biden and his f*cked up national security team have demonized Putin as a war criminal. It is difficult to strike a deal with a war criminal. Biden has not spoken to Putin since the second invasion began in 2022.

NATO is an anachronism. It should have been re-imagined after the fall of the Soviet Union and the dissolution of the Warsaw Pact rather than expanded. A huge mistake and a lost opportunity. NATO dependsa on the US to do all the heavy lifting. The Europeans have allowed their militaries to dissipate in order to maintain their generous welfare systems. The US has picked up to tab for the Europe's security umbrella. Europe should assume the major burden for its own security. The US is the world's biggest debtor nation. We can't afford these endless wars.
Adding Finland and Sweden does very little militarily and it just adds to the US liability under Article 5. For Finland and Sweden it is a good deal. The US provides the insurance policy for their national sovereignty and the US pays most of the insurance premiums.

Ukraine could stop it tomorrow. The US could stop it using our leverage over Ukraine. NATO could stop it by saying Ukraine will never be a member. Instead, we are escalating the conflict in the absurd notion that Ukraine can win, whatever that means.
I have no problem with this. Crimea and Donbas is Russian.
Kherson, as well as Zaporizhzhia should remain Ukrainian.
We disagree on NATO.
