Police: Skeletal Remains of Missing Wisconsin Boy, 3, Found by Deer Hunter

Skeletal remains discovered by a deer hunter in Wisconsin last weekend have been positively identified as Elijah Vue, a three-year-old who went missing from his mother’s boyfriend’s home in February.

The remains — a skull and multiple bones — were found on private property in Two Rivers by “a person getting his land ready for the hunting season,” Two Rivers Police Chief Ben Meinnert said during a press conference Friday.

The land was near the Girl Scout Camp Manitou property, and the body parts were found in a heavily wooded area with thick underbrush, Meinnert said.

“This location is just over three miles northwest of where he was originally reported missing,” he said of Elijah, adding that the area had already been searched by law enforcement “several times.”

The mother is white and the “boyfriend” is black. For some reason, they don’t want to disclose that.

Mom’s boyfriend is the most dangerous person in a child’s life.

“The mother is white and the ‘boyfriend’ is black. For some reason, they don’t want to disclose that.”

OMG. When I wrote my post, my second paragraph was saying that I’ll be interested to know the demographic makeup of this couple. Then it seemed mean, and I deleted it. I assumed it was white woman with black man. In these true crime stories on ID and Oxygen, that’s the prevalent situation.

I like to guess who the perp is in these shows. But within the first five minutes, and there’s a WW/BM couple, I just delete it from my recordings. I like a challenge, and that demographic is too easy.

When cops said they have “searched” a wooded area, they mean they walked together in one group down an obvious animal trail and saw nothing that raised suspicious.

I am guessing that a three-year-old didn’t go three miles into a heavily-wooded area on his own.

Poor child. Lord, have mercy and bring justice.

Elijah is suffering no longer. He is safe with God. Now it’s time to hold people responsible.

Searching for a small body in Wisconsin woods during winter probably isn’t as easy as you seem to think it would be. You must think all LEOs are heartless people who wouldn’t care about a three-year old wandering around in likely freezing temperatures. He either wandered that far and died of hypothermia, perphaps crawling under something to try to get warm, or he was killed, either accidentally or deliberately, and buried in a shallow grave. Either way, the chances of finding him until animals scattered his remains were slim.

An additional note, the police weren’t the only ones who were searching. The property owner and various search teams were involved throughout the changing seasons.

Ever look for a little boy possibly lost in the woods? It sucks, and you don’t chit chat and you have a lump in your throat the entire time “ will I see him dead, or alive”. Did that st 16 for several hours. Pitty the dear dear neighbor dad that lifted him deceased out of the lake in my view. Poor parents.

I am a family law attorney. Mom’s boyfriend is a huge danger to mom’s children. Moms, wait until your kids are grown and out of the house. Most of these “boyfriends” are not going to help you financially and will not love your children.

This little boy didn’t wander. Craven mom gave him to boyfriend to make little boy “into a man.” Boyfriend assuredly beat little boy to death and ditched him in the woods, then lied about it.

>> I am guessing that a three-year-old didn’t go three miles into a heavily-wooded area on his own. <<

Actually, that assumption is not likely to be correct. At that age, the child is likely to havegained the expertise to open and close doors, and seized with an overwhelming curiosity, is likely to allow him/herself to follow wherever the wanderlust takes one, not yet having learned accountability for the dangers such ventures might bring.

It is exactly at tht stage of development thaat is likely to disappear wihout warning the moment when the minder's back is turned, leaving no indication what destination the child's curiosity takes him/her.

A range of three miles is not unlikely to be within the child's capacity and energy to get lost in. But such a radius covers an area almost impossible to search for every area that could hid the little one who might be tired and lost, and unable to find a way back, nor accountable for it.

I would say that if one of the parents were the cause of the disappearance, finding the place, time, and location of the incident would be much, much closer to home; probably within it, or much farther away . However, for the intervention of an evil-minded stranger during the child's solitary wanderngs, that may well be a possibility.

Most ordinary responsible persons sensing the peculiarity of the child being alone and without any supervision, would likely arrest the child, take him in tow, and find someone in authority to take possession to find the child's home and parent.

i would not be surprised if it was found that the child, escaping the minder's attention, was the sole cause of his own demise.

Any child of that age of irresponsibility needs to be constantly within the attention of the attending adult responsible for its welfare. Every minute, or else locked in beyond its ability to escape. Maybe the woman's boyfriend was much less moved toward accountablity for him, and thus at fault through negligence.
