Woman spills cocaine at elementary school, beats staffer who tries reporting — even strangles victim with his own tie: Police (Illinois)

An Illinois woman was arrested after she reportedly attacked a staff member of an elementary school Wednesday — and baggies of cocaine spilled upon the floor sparked the alleged assault, according to authorities.

Officers with the Rockford Police Department arrested Shakeda Barfield, 33, on Wednesday after accusations that she battered an elementary school employee.

According to WREX, the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office filed the following charges against Barfield: possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, aggravated battery/strangulation, aggravated battery to a school employee, and disorderly conduct.

My kids went to that school! It was a good school, then. I’m not sure anything in Rockford is good anymore, except the good people who are stuck there and the churches they attend. Sooooo glad to be gone from there! The democrats who run it have ruined it!

Good catch. Orton Keyes is not someplace to visit. Having said that, my wife once gave a co-worker a ride home from the school where they worked, and her residence was in Orton Keyes. Not the same school, by the way.

My wife was a paraprofessional in the Rockford school district for 20 years. I’m glad she got out when she did, it was starting to get dangerous. Some of the kids are pretty much getting away with whatever they can.

We lived in Rockford our whole lives, until we moved to Loves Park in 2016.

Much better environment here, in this part of LP anyway. We’re both retired, I take walks on the bike path next to the Rock River, I’ve seen eagles, herons, turtles. We moved from an area that was starting to get dangerous w/home invasions and burglaries. The neighbors are nice.
