Homeland Security on Wednesday officially designated the Electoral College vote count and certification as a special national security event, putting the U.S. Secret Service in charge of security surrounding the process.
The move comes in response to the 2021 count, which saw a mob storm the Capitol to try to head off the count that certified President Biden as the winner over former President Donald Trump.
The vote counting joins other major events such as the national nominating conventions, presidential inaugurations and the president’s annual State of the Union address.

The EVs are counted a few days after the new Congress takes its seats. So do not do any analysis on this expecting the current House and Senate to be determinant.
Note also that there WILL be Faithless Electors. This has become a norm of late.
Lara Trump will have to scurry among the Trump states to prevent the state Republican parties from selecting electors. She will have to ensure the are Trump Electors, not Republican Electors.

But the administrative agencies just ignore congress, lie to them, and stonewall them and congress doesn’t have the balls to have them arrested.
So I’m not sure how much difference congress makes. What would make a difference if the President fired the top 1/3 of executives of every agency in DHS and banned DEI in the federal government.

The states and the U.S. Congress have control of the votes and any election issues that may arise therefrom. An agency that answers to the DOJ and the Attorney General do not have that authority.
This is another raw power grab by the federal government and is a violation of the U.S. Constitution. This decision requires an immediate court challenge. This is jackboot stuff.
Now no U.S. citizen can go anywhere near the Capitol to protest on January 6, 2025 without running the very real risk of incarceration for making “threats to national security”.
Like the millions plowing across the border are not threats to U.S. national security?

George W. Bush’s domestic spy agency is going to make sure everything’s on the up-and-up.
The national election in November 2024 is entirely a matter between the states’ legal residents who are U.S. citizens, and such states’ respective legislative bodies, and the Electoral College, and the Congress.
I’m gonna ROFL when Trump wins and all these idiotic “measures” work to the detriment of the demon ‘Rats!
No matter how great Trump’s Presidency turns out to help ALL Americans, some will still complain!
