Propaganda posters have been set up in the Russian Kursk region. They depict a soldiers carrying a child and calls for people to volunteer for the army. It says:

"Contract service is the choice of true patriots. To our guys."

However, there is a nuance. The depicted soldier is Ukrainian and the picture has been taken in March 2022 at the destroyed Romanivskyi Bridge at the Irpin river, when Russians tried and failed to take Kyiv.

Of course they say that. But for 24 years Putin has been erecting statues of Joseph Stalin everywhere in Russia, Putin has explicitly named Stalin as his model, and Russia's policy is to rebuild the Soviet Union as it was then.
