An unsuspecting Maryland high school allowed a MS-13 gang member at the center of a murder investigation to enroll after authorities failed to alert the administration of the gang member’s suspect status.
Walter Martinez, an MS-13 gang member who at 16-years-old was the primary suspect in the July 2022 murder of Kayla Hamilton, enrolled in and attended Edgewood High School in Harford County, Maryland, without the district being informed of his status as a suspect in the case, according to a report from Baltimore's Fox 45.
"When I start from the very beginning and get to the very end, they’re like, ‘Wow, that is a really crazy story,’" Hamilton’s mother, Tammy Nobles, told Project Baltimore for the report. "And I say, ‘It is a crazy story. But it’s a true story.’ It’s the worst pain that a parent can ever get."
"She was just found with a cord wrapped around her neck and her mouth. Then just left her on the floor, like trash," Nobles added.
Martinez, a native of Salvador who was in the U.S. illegally, was quickly identified as the primary suspect and was detained by police, with surveillance video and an audio recording placing the gang member at the scene of the crime.
"They knew he was guilty. They just needed that DNA to really lock it in," Nobles said.
According to the Fox 45 report, Martinez was read his Miranda Rights and police sent out his DNA for testing, but the process took six months. In the meantime, he was allowed to enroll at the school without any agency warning administrators about the investigation.

What kind of state lets a murder suspect enroll and attend high school? Apparently the answer is "Maryland."
BTTT
Ah, the Freak State....again.
So glad I left for good decades ago.
"They knew he was guilty. They just needed that DNA to really lock it in," Nobles (the young murdered girl's mother) said.
"She was just found with a cord wrapped around her neck and her mouth. Then he just left her on the floor, like trash."
America’s Diversity “strength” is the number one killer of Americans. Screw the liberal DemocRATS and their “strength”. Hopefully this illegal will eventually be taken out in prison before the DemocRATs can get him released from prison and back on the streets to kill again.
What kind of state lets a murder suspect enroll and attend high school?
If a 16-year-old covered in tattoos shows up and claims he lives in the district, he has to be enrolled. Until the school can prove he doesn’t live in the district, he must be admitted. No English? Violent behavior? Addicted to drugs? The school has to cope. This is one reason why many public schools have become disasters for ‘normal’ children.
This creature should be publicly burned alive. Slowly.
“…his DNA for testing…process took six months”
How could that be?
All states do. No matter what happens, if they are a minor, the law requires they are educated. To start, he's just a "suspect" and not found to be responsible. And, if he is a minor, he will never be found "guilty" of a crime because minors cannot be legally found "guilty" of crimes. They are considered "abdicated youth" because the power of responsibility for them is taken away from the parent and they become wards of the state. Now, this can work differently in different states. In Texas, if the crime is violent enough, They can be tried as an adult. But, they won't be punished as an adult. Also, they can be found liable for the crime, and then incarcerated in juvenile detention until they are 18, and then transferred over to "big boy" prison for something as serious as murder. Or, depending upon the crime and circumstances, they could be released. But, the law requires they be educated. In Texas, the public school will likely put them on an alternative campus for offenders.
This is something that people need to understand about these gangs. They always send their youth to do their dirty work, because they know know the youth will get an easier ride.
Sis months?! What the heck.
