If you don’t report the crime to the FIB then it didn’t happen.

And yet we are told crime rates are falling.

Gavin Newsom said that red states have higher murder rates than blue states.

I think we all know statewide averages are meaningless in such a discussion. But idiots like Newsom can take a statistic , which may be true, but use it to present a meaningless argument.

For example, how much of the murder rate in the red state of Tennessee is impacted by the violent city of Memphis?

The solution is obvious. Oakland needs to change how crime is reported. Then it will appear that crime is going down.

A city near me did that exact same thing. The city is now a peaceful wonderland.
Not.

They do things like change the offense to a different one.

Plea deals have ridiculous lesser sounding names for attempted rapes, assaults and home invasions as well as major narcotics violations. One is “loitering at a place where controlled substances are sold and used.”

Murder in cold blood becomes “involuntary manslaughter.” One case: Felony assault (man hit his wife with a baseball bat) pled down to “threatening” and he was sentence to time served and mandatory domestic battery classes.

And the lack of people getting involved by pressing charges makes it look like the real crimes weren’t happening. People figure “why target my family and myself for a thug who gets out quickly and looks for us. I’m staying out of it.

Crime has slowed because many of the easy to hit places have closed.

“Leveled off” meaning, people just stopped reporting it because the police are useless and their insurance rates would go up.

They’re lying. Crime is soaring in all sanctuary cities. Being an SC breeds contempt for the law.
