America was founded as a representative republic. A federation of various separate and distinct nation states. I do not want to live in a democracy with an all powerful central government. Nor would any sane person if they truly understood the ramifications.
America was founded as a Constitutional republic.
Don’t say it's semantics either as that's a lie.
The Constitution is the very thing that set up our
representation in Article 1, Sections 2 and 3.
“America was founded as a representative republic. A federation of various separate and distinct nation states. I do not want to live in a democracy with an all powerful central government.”
Exactly right. Except for a few enumerated areas, the states were to be sovereign. But look where we are today. The big central federal government thugs have had their way.
Tragically, the nation has been living with an all powerful central government ever since the North won the Civil War. That was the turning point when the sovereignty of the states ceased to exist. Growth of the federal government was given a turbo boost with the "reforms" of the Teddy Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson eras thanks to the income tax, direct election of senators, and creation of the federal reserve.
