A 90-year-old veteran was killed after he was shot – and then run over with his own car — during a violent carjacking outside a Houston retirement home over the weekend, cops said.
Grandfather of five [and six great-grandchildren], Nelson Beckett, was in the parking lot of the Lone Star Living assisted living complex Saturday around noon when the unidentified suspect approached the elderly man and started attacking him, Houston police said, according to reports.
“He had his little shopping cart and a scuffle ensued,” neighbor Rod Boson told KHOU 11. "They say he put up a good fight. That’s when he got shot. As the suspect backed up, he hit [the victim].”
“Nelson more than most people I know loved being with people,” Southwest Central Church of Christ senior minister Steve Sargent said during Sunday services. “He loved swapping stories, telling jokes and showing pictures.”

That does it for me. Killed a faithful christian for no reason. I have had all I can take. This has got to stop. You can no negotiate with these people or the people for whom they vote. They’re the U.S. version of Palestinians/Gazans. Them, their wives, their children, their dogs, cats any living thing on their property and their houses. I have a solution for this.
These days, it depends upon where you live in Texas. Houston is not one of those places. I wouldn't count on the perp being caught.

That is one of the saddest things about senior living communities. The people living there are such easy targets for all types of crime. When my mother-in-law was alive and living in a San Antonio assisted living facility, she was targeted for car theft. It was only because we family members hunted the scum down that he was ever caught.
My own grandfather fought in ww2 as part of McArthurs 6th army in the S Pacific. So I don’t say this despairingly.
But sometimes I wonder if all they did wasn’t in vain.

So what exactly are they going to do with a 90 yearold carrying if had shot the perp? Good luck finding a jury. Although now that I say that with all the Dem loonies out there....
