What does a ‘hostage deal’ buy them?
More death. The only solution is to rid the world of Hamas.
These are bloodthirsty psychpathic Islamists. You can’t make a “hostage deal” with such people. And everyone knows this!
Hamas gave the hostages the only deal they believe in. And yet, even some Israelis, like some (so-called) Americans want to show their Hamas love.
More hostages.
More hostages in the future.
It’s what the threat of the shutdown buys them — a sense of empowerment over devastating circumstances beyond their control.
The islamist check cleared and the Democrats have setup Netanyahu (who they hate as much as Trump) to take the blame for the failed hostage rescue (which was probably undermined by US intelligence agencies).
The left has not allowed for a clear victory in a war since the 1960 and will not. There is too much money to be made, too many campaigns dependent on the conflict and no peace for citizens that might see their governments as the problem.
It’s a (Israeli) domestic political point they’re attempting to make - even if it ultimately helps Hamas.
