Cadbury has outsmarted me. I didn’t feed him this afternoon and I let him out about 3:00. His dinner time is 5:00. He hung around our house until it got dark. Then he went exploring, and it was excruciating watching and trying to figure out where he was going and when to go intercept him. He he got close to roads several times, but never cross them. I did have some plans this evening but all I did was watch Cadbury video. He finally came home a little bit ago, a little after 9:00. What took him 3 hours to get there in a rambling track, took him 15 minutes when he went straight home. What a relief! Tried to give him hugs and kisses but all he did was wiggle out if my arms. He doesn’t seem repentant one bit.
New plan, not letting him out after 2:00. And I will take away the food around noon.
Oh dear. I’d hate to see anything happen to him. I guess you could consider an invisible fence, but you’d be looking at thousands. We have one around the property here....it goes around approximately 3 acres of the residence/laneways/dog kennel/barnyard area.
Maybe just let him out in morning?
I know you get worried sick when he’s gone
Wonder if he has a friend - an animal friend that he gets together with
you hear of so many of these animals that go to spend time with each other
the trick might be to keep him in a few days and see if another animal comes around by your doors might be a cat who knows what- a skunk ? possum?
