“My daughter starts middle school tomorrow. We’ve decorated her locker, bought new uniforms, even surprised her with a new backpack.

But tonight just before bed, we did another pre-middle school task that is far more important than the others. I gave her a tube of toothpaste and asked her to squirt it out onto a plate. When she finished, I calmly asked her to put all the toothpaste back in the tube.

She began exclaiming things like ‘But I can’t!’ and ‘It won’t be like it was before!’ I quietly waited for her to finish and then said the following:
‘You will remember this plate of toothpaste for the rest of your life. Your words have the power of life or death.

As you go into middle school, you are about to see just how much weight your words carry. You are going to have the opportunity to use your words to hurt, demean, slander and wound others.

You are also going to have the opportunity to use your words to heal, encourage, inspire and love others. You will occasionally make the wrong choice; I can think of three times this week I have used my own words carelessly and caused harm.

Just like this toothpaste, once the words leave your mouth, you can’t take them back. Use your words carefully. When others are misusing their words, guard your words.

Make the choice every morning that life-giving words will come out of your mouth. Decide tonight that you are going to be a life-giver in middle school. Be known for your gentleness and compassion. Used to be able at Facebook but not any longer. That would be my biggest source of pix for here

I’ve noted so many with various servers (like you) have problems. Feel badly. I know it takes time and effort to find things snd load them onto your chosen server.

I had one that’s apparently still okay as all my pix on my profile page and most from my thread posts are still there

Tiny pix used to work but it was a bit hard as unless you kept a log of pix n url it was lost

“I also wonder how Musk can possibly be a father figure to all of those young kids. He can be a visiting father, but where do they all live? Who does he live with? How often would he see the kids? It’s a strange way to continue to have kids - not unlike having a harem.”

I know, I know, pick me!! raising hand)

He’s a self admitted Aspie. Completely self-absorbed. Unable to even see others much less have empathy. And his special interest is techie stuff, which he is awesomely good at. So that’s his priority and he doesn’t even think of the children unless he’s done with something or someone interrupts him with plans to see them.

His strength is absolutely not interpersonal skills. Although he seems to do better than most at expressing himself. But forming a bond with another human is difficult at best. I’m sure his children feel the lack. But he provides for them, and feel that if he is providing money and other people to care for them than he is doing, all he needs to do.

All that is if he really is a typical Aspie. And of course, there are always varying degrees. So he could be much more bonded to them than I think. I hope so.

So why the sudden cutting of ties? The teen’s new gender identity and legal name change is the first we’ve heard from any of Musk’s five children with Wilson, who have all kept a low-profile until now, and a move that many suggest is a backlash to so-called transphobic comments made by Musk in recent months.

Later, actress Amber Heard posted pictures of her and Musk’s children while she and the Tesla boss were dating in 2017. Musk himself has remained tight-lipped about his children with Wilson, but has been much more open about his children with Grimes, calling baby X Æ A-Xii (X for short) a “protege” and showing him off on his lap during video calls.

I get the feeling there are a whole lot of Aspies in our generation lol. Isn’t that how most fathers used to be? His job was to provide and protect, and beyond that, go ask your mother lol.

I think Elon is a little more bonded now, as I often see him with one of his kids tagging along. Now that could be the mother possibly insisting on time spent with the kids....who knows. I have listened to some of Elon’s speeches lately. He honestly seems to have much more empathy than I would have thought. His speeches are interesting.....very halted and obvious thought processing being done before he speaks....I think sometimes Trump could take a lesson from him lol.
