I agree. Unfortunately I don’t see Trump getting much support from the Republicans with his house cleaning. They know he has, practically speaking, only three years to remove the entrenched officials and will find ways to slow him down and/or undermine him. Way too many obstructionist RINOs in the party.

A president has the power to directly terminate these categories. They serve at the pleasure of the executive\president. US attorneys & Schedule C appointments all gone the first day (Clinton did this!). All “Excepted Service” subject to review then if negative action is merited, i.e. If found to have been involved in partisan political activity, then dismissal. Next way harder because it requires legislation but in some it’s the cleanest and quickest way is with the budget. Cut budgets by 25% particularly aim the cuts at DC area - HQs personnel followed by RIFs. Last in first out, this will clean out many of the Obama era personnel. Next and this also requires legislation re-organize and move sections if not whole agencies outside the DC metropolitan area into CONUS. Further out the better find out who really wants to do the service part of government service. This should reduce personnel levels even further.

A lot of people seem to think presidents are kings and can rule by decree, i.e. EOs. They are not and can not as much as Rats would like that to be true thank God it isn’t. People take Trump and others’ rhetoric on this way to literal. I understand why such things are said, said to set a goal do what can be done directly and work to get done legislatively what needs to be done that way.
