It would be easier to just take 2 SpaceX suits up with them. Yep, Robe says one is there already, one will be delivered on Crew 9.

Article:
“The Starliner spacecraft itself will be unmanned when it returns in early September.”
In how many pieces?
Lol.

Yeah, no ****. It's adorable that the Starliner is now scheduled to reenter the atmosphere and make a landing in September. What a break for the two that rode it up wondering if they were going to survive, not having to burn up or crash in that pile of refuse.

Looks like they'll be spending Christmas in space. Here's an ornament for their tree.

I have heard that the Starliner capsule cannot be undocked and flown autonomously.
Does anyone know for certain the truth of that, and if that was true, has NASA updated the software or systems on the Stiner to be able to do that?
I had heard that was the problem, that the Starliner could not be undocked, unless there were, humans on board.

NASA has moved into witchcraft mode.
If they combine the right herbs and say the right incantations they might get the software to work.

Pity that the service module won't be making the return trip. I assume that the service module, which contains the thrusters and tankage, burns up in the atmosphere after separating from the capsule.
NASA wasn't able to completely understand the thruster problem. It would have been nice to actually look at the thrusters to see what failed. They won't be able to do that so the mystery is unsolved. Who knows when (or if) starliner will ever fly again?
