The Oxford Board of Health approved an outdoor curfew after the town reported its first human case of Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) this year.
Curfew could impact fall sports The Board of Health met Wednesday evening to recommend ending outdoor activities before dusk to avoid peak mosquito hours, despite residents' protests.
"Being heard is our No. 1 goal," said Oxford Webster Football and Cheer Vice President Josh Ziemski, before the meeting.
"We don't want to see another human case of EEE this year," Public Health Director Rike Sterrett said. "One is already too many."
The move could impact fall sports. The Fournier sisters are worried it'll jeopardize their only season cheering together.

3 Words: BILL GATES’ MOSQUITOS 🦟
Now we’re going to have Horse Flu to fret over?
I’m triggered! The CDC is nothing but a One Trick Pony, one contrived hurdle after the other.
I thought the Gates mosquitoes only spread dengue fever. Maybe he is branching out.
Make them wear masks and maintain a 0.01 furlong social distancing.
It's 5 o'clock somewhere..
Everyone in Massachusetts will be getting a mail-in ballot.
As we did in California in 2020, my neighbor got three, others got up to five, all “legitimate.”
You said minkey:)
If we curfew the humans, will it be a teachable moment for the mosquitos? No, aggressive mosquito abatement and DEET are the best strats, for starters.
Of course! I caught dengue in the Philippians. It’s not strong enough to reduce the population too much. 65+ people routinely make it through. Expect many more stronger viruses from the 400+ biolabs you and I fund. Underfunded liabilities are America’s greatest threat (besides Sodomite Leadership)
Infrequent cases of EEE are nothing new. What is new is the ability of the left to force people to do their will in the name of “public health”.
God save us from the unelected Bureaucrats, puffed up with their meddling, political self-inportance.
Just get rid of all the horses. Make them stay inside. Nobody needs a horse anyhow.
“The Oxford Board of Health approved an outdoor curfew after the town reported its first human case of Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) this year.”
these people are fricking insane idiots: western equine encephalitis is endemic to our area of Colorado ... mosquito control is employed to help kill the WEE disease vector mosquitoes ...
only a small percentage of those who contract the disease even show symptoms, and an even smaller percentage show symptoms, and an even smaller percentage wind up in the hospital ...
no one is insane enough to even THINK about a curfew: they would have to shut down half the state all summer every time someone got bit by a mosquito ...
likewise, a few expected cases of plague during the summer and a few expected rabies-infected bats bring forth no more than: “You and your dogs stay the hell away from prairie dog colonies, and don’t pick up dead bats or other dead animals, but call your local health department to pick them up for testing.”
I still remember the panic and fear promotion caused by VEE(Venezuelan equine encephalitis) back in 1962. It came, infected lots of horses and a few people, then it passed on.
No change in our own lifestyle at all as no one around here came down with it, but it was on the news each night.
Much the same for the Swine Flu of 1976. Fear mongering. More people died of heart attacks standing in line for the shot than came down with the flu.
Maybe bring back the mosquito man with his DDT spray truck. As a young boy, I remember chasing after the mosquito man on my bicycle. So much fun.
I do not live in Massachusetts. But I will show my support for the Oxford Board of Health by refusing to watch “Mr. Ed” reruns until the threat is over.
You people can’t take care of yourselves so we must send you to your room

At least no one wrote “gub” (Take the money and run).
“Nobody needs a horse anyhow”
Start with the rapid gallops.
