Why would anyone oppose this? The “green” marketing aside, this is basically how humans have buried their loved ones for thousands of years. Jewish and Muslim cemeteries don’t use metal caskets or allow embalming at all. They use wooden caskets with wooden nails, or shrouds.

If people want open casket expensive metal cases that’s fine too. But don’t prevent other people from choosing differently.

I mean, some might argue that they sound a bit hippy-dippy (https://www.miburial.com/about-us), but what exactly is morally objectionable about their professed intentions?

I don’t see anything, to be honest. Nothing about their plans are incompatible with a Christian burial.

It’s just the way modern government is, at all levels. Some official personally doesn’t like something. So he makes a law against it.

“I don’t like guns. Therefore, no one must have a gun. I don’t like gas stoves. I think they are bad for the environment. Therefore, no one must have a gas stove.”

That sort of thing.

Who would oppose? All those making money on the current overpriced emotionally hyped funeral/burial business.

I just buried the remains of a relative. They weren’t loved but I wanted to be decent about it but cheap. Cremation, urn, burial at a family plot, flat marker, pastor at grave side. All in $1,500.
