Correct. Trump and his loyal followers are blindly following Trump into a corner.

What happened to the states rights policy where the federal government will have no role in this abortion issue? Seems Trump is committing the federal government (USPS) into furthering the abortion goals.

this is not a federal matter, and people getting mad at Trump for not backing a new federal law against abortion 

If it's not a federal matter, then why is Trump using a federal agency to expedite and increase abortions in those states?

This is is not a Federal issue anymore. 

I hear Trumpers say this all the time. But they don't say why Trump is enabling pro choice states by allowing the federal govenment to facilitate more abortions.

Mail in pills is just a minor step forward in the march for more abortions. But it is a move to the left by Donald Trump in his allowing the Post Office to facilitate this.

Saying the Federal government should leave abortion up to the states and it's OK for the federal government to allow the Post Office to mail abortion pills to pro-abort states is like saying I have no opinion about abortion, and it's OK if my neighbor wants an abortion.

In fact I'll even drive her to the Abortion Clinic.

If you're not actively against abortion, then you're for it.

It’s unfortunate that the Constitution didn’t ban slavery and considered slaves as 3/5 of a person for population purposes for Representatives. But that comprise was required for it to be adopted. If perfect knowledge of the future Civil War were known, perhaps it would have been different.

Will there likewise be future ramifications for not eradicating abortion in all forms?

 

Correct. Leaving abortion up the the States is the same as when we left Slavery up to the States.

Haha. But seriously… to answer your question:

Over 75% of Americans are against banning abortions completely.
Over 75%!of Americans are against unlimited abortion on demand.

Therefore, going “all out for abortions” would turn off just as many voters as banning abortion.

Abortion is a political “third rail”.. Trump is playing it just right.

  1. There are easy alternatives to the USPS not under Federal jurisdiction (UPS, Fedex, etc.).
  2. Abortion is taking a human life, but it's not "murder" unless it is legally defined as such.
  3. We face gobs of ethically difficult issues surrounding making and taking human life, of which abortion is but one.
  4. What is missing from public discussion about the law re taking a life is that it MUST be subject to due process.
That last item presents an opportunity for Federalism to address these difficult moral and legal issues instead of getting stuck in the political tar baby that allows any number of ethical abominations to progress unabated.

And here are my suggestions to you:

1) Stop trying to read into people’s minds and motives as if you know the character of the poster ( I don’t even have a basement and here you are assuming I have one ).

2) Learn to differentiate between the author of an article and the one who simply posted the article.

3) Follow the rules of this forum against spouting profanities against a fellow FReeper.

If our support for Trump is so fragile that a simple negative article will cause his support to collapse then I don’t think you know the level of support that he has compared to the alternative.

Due Process. As given to all citizens by the 14th Amendement. One Vike hosted a very excellent thread recently where he argued that a Pro Life Amendment isn't really necessary as SCOTUS could and should enforce the 14th which applies to the life of the unborn child.
 
No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
 
This Amendment contradicts Trump and his Trumpees claim that abortion is a States Rights issue.
