Elections are never held weeks or months before the election, so that hypothetical should disappear from the political landscape.
However, if elections were held weeks or months after the election, when buyers’ remorse had set in, the winner of the election might be voted out. Unfortunately, that’s also a hypothetical and those with buyers’ remorse will have to settle in and take their punishment for the duration of the winner’s term.
Politics stinks.
He would win today, because they haven’t printed up enough ballots yet.
The debate will factor in, however I suspect it will be a “draw” and a nothing burger. She will make promises she can’t keep, and Trump will do what he always does.
Trump needs to market his campaign effectively in the swing states, that will win it.
I doubt Kamala is going to get any better.
Hah, that is probably what he really means.
That’s not what the polls are saying. The ones the MSM has been pushing on the politically blind or apathetic.
Presupposes a fair election.
Politics stinks.
********
So what would you suggest as a replacement
in selecting a President, etc.?
To his credit Axelrod understands messaging i.e. lying.
If you remember Barry was originally against gay marriage.
If you want to win a general election, you must run closer to the middle than the extreme.
I also suspect Axelrod would have never signed off on Walz as VP.
The key question about the polls is are they more accurate than the last two Presidential races, or do they still have the same bias toward the Democrat? If it’s the latter then Trump is ahead.
Every election is a sad state of affairs.
Where somehow the worst America has to offer becomes it’s leaders.
Kamala / walz.
What a complete and utter embarrassment.
The idea that this is even a close race says something about how idiotic..selfish..freaks.. Americans have become.
because the democrats haven’t received their Harris/Walz ballots from China yet ,LOL
Trump has changed politics.
It is fought differently now. One side hates Trump and that decides their vote. The other side, our side, also hates.
We hate what has been done to him.
Their are no votes to be found with issues. That is Never Trump Swamp thinking, who want to stop the move towards rejecting the Swamp and return talk to issues that have no solution ($36T debt).
Better a campaign point at the 30% of the electorate that doesn’t vote. You’re not going to get their votes with talk of bullshit tax and spend policy they have been hearing about their whole lives. Better you chase those votes with Lara Trump’s RNC finding them and carrying a ballot to them and talk about the way Trump has been abused — almost killed — and how they, the voter, is the only one that can provide justice.
So all the Never Trump talk of “stay on the issues” is losing strategy. First of all, the media won’t report it. It has to be outrageous verbage from Trump to get reported. And second, the voters you are pointing at . . . the non elite voters . . . don’t care about that.
She’s already fumbling on the campaign trail because now she realizes this is for real now. The pressure of a full presidential campaign will take a toll on her and Walz. She’s been in over her head as vice president and I can only imagine the stress she’s feeling now.
The narrative has started to shift during the DNC convention.
From “She will win” to “Trump will win because of the sexist EC” or “Trump will win, but not be a majority candidate”
Interesting cope. Harris was leading until she started talking.
Axelrod is a master of stating the everything.
Yesterday: If Biden quits and the dems get another candidate, Trump and the GOP are in a ton of trouble.
Today: If the election were held today, it MAY well be President Trump.
Tomorrow or after a week of the DNC convention: Get read for President Kamala.
Wow, what skills.
I don’t believe she could EVER LOSE!! FIRST BLACK WOMAN with a VOTE FRAUD MACHINE!!!
He knows what’s coming and is trying to step back from it.
