US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has arrived in Israel in his latest effort to push for a ceasefire and hostage-release deal in Gaza.
His ninth trip to the region since the war began in October comes days after the US presented a modified proposal aimed at bridging long-standing gaps between the two sides.
The US and Israel have expressed optimism about a deal since talks resumed in Doha last week, but Hamas says suggestions of progress are an "illusion".
Differences are said to include whether Israeli troops will be required to withdraw fully from the Gaza Strip, as Hamas insists.
A Hamas source has told Saudi media that the proposals include the IDF maintaining a reduced presence along the Philadelphi Corridor, a narrow strip of land along Gaza’s southern border with Egypt.
But Israeli sources have told the Times of Israel, external that other procedures along the border could compensate for an Israeli withdrawal from the area in the first phase of the deal.

The irony of the "anti-war" marchers set for the DNC is they should vote for Trump!! Peace and prosperity !
Fixed it.
Release all hostages from Gaza!
1st and only condition before any ceasefire talks. Otherwise, kill all Hamas operatives and supporters.
I’m confident a Trump admin would have this concluded similar to Ukraine/Russia
Did Blinken arrive in Gaza via Biden’s expensive floating pier? Oh, wait. The pier got washed away.
Never mind.
Where the hell are Winken and Nod?
Blenken is lying POS.

Hamas rejects the new U.S. bridging proposal: The new proposal addresses Netanyahu’s conditions, especially with regard to his refusal to stop the war and fully withdraw from Gaza and to continue to control the Philadelphi corrifor and the Netzarim corridor. The proposal sets new conditions regarding the prisoner exchange process and withdraws from previous clauses in a way that does not allow reaching an agreement
My peace plan:
Temporary 3-day ceasefire, during which Hamas releases all hostages to IDF soldiers and the hostages are taken to Israeli hospitals. No exchange of Pali prisoners held in Israel.
Hamas surrenders and gives up weapons, in exchange for free release and non-imprisonment.
IDF and Hamas then begin negotiations for a permanent ceasefire. Meanwhile, IDF remains in Gaza until permanent ceasefire is obtained.
IDF assists with humanitarian aid to Gazans, including medical, food and basic necessities. Non-Israeli countries contribute, including Arab neighbors such as Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. Keep the U.N. out.
No reconstruction plan while hostilities continue from Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, etc.
Blinken is a dull tool and a self-hating Jew.
Note that hostage release is not the priority.
The ONLY cease fire I support is 100 percent of ALL the hostages in ONE time, not in a span of weeks, all in ONCE and that every single member of Hamas that is left is forced to leave, exiled to never return to Gaza
He’s missin’ Winkin and Nod. And given our sorry ass excuse for adult leadership, the do need the entire three stooge matched set to rise from acute cretinism to only moderate stupidity.
Blinken is a weasel, sent to make a deal to get the prostitute in office
He could give TWO SH*TS about PEACE in the middle east.
Perhaps:
24 hours of no bombing for every live hostage returned
12 bonus hours for each additional live hostage returned on the same day
6 hours of no bombing for every dead hostage delivered up
24 hours of no bombing if a complete set of tunnel maps is furnished to the Israeli negotiating team before September
The Israeli negotiating team to supply a list of possible hostages within ten days. Israel within Gaza within any 30 day plus bombing halt hours period to use no more than 500 kilograms of high explosives via aerial bombs as there are such possible hostages not returned or delivered up.
HAMAS and the Palestinian Authority separately and jointly agree to prosecute violence against hostages to the level the US government might.
Israel reserves the right to shoot to kill by gunfire any suspected terrorist not treated as a war criminal should be and any person presenting an apparent armed threat to Israelis.
Except during no bombing periods and periods of internationally evident vigorous prosecution and punishment of violent actions against hostages, Israel shall have the right to kill by missiles with warheads of less than six kilograms of high explosive suspected terrorists not treated as a war criminal should be.
Restrictions imposed on Israel by this agreement shall voided by any Gazan source action in gross violation of this agreement, including the taking of one or more hostages.
“The ONLY cease fire I support is 100 percent of ALL the hostages in ONE time”
HAMAS might not even have control of 50% of the hostages.
Blinken Idiot
What song should he sing ?
Eve of Destruction sounds appropriate.
