Germany actually had a more socialist form of government as a monarchy and after the monarch abdicated than under Nazism. Their total defeat after WW1 and the economic fallout of it lead them to seek a solution and someone to blame. Hitler provided that.
The Germans had plenty of more choices after WW1 than communism or nazism though.
But no more choices once Hitler consolidated power with extreme force.
Again, each of the forms of government being discussed here one can find similarities, it’s the differences that matter.
