(In which casw we would have a government that is illegal and illegitimate.)

The current one is already illegitimate. Plus Trump needs to challenge Kamala’s natural born Citizenship since she’s an anchor baby born to two non citizen parents who weren’t naturalized American citizens when she was born.

Yes, we need to get that NBC issued settled. It’s astounding how many times that has been a possible issue with presidential candidates in recent decades: Goldwater, George Romney, Obama, McCain, Cruz, Gabbard, and now Harris.
I believe Congress determined that Goldwater, Romney, and McCain were NBC, but we need to get it defined once and for all.

At this juncture, the judicial precedent is well over a century old: insofar is America is concerned, the citizenship of your parents does not matter so much as whether you are born within the sovereign jurisdiction of America. Kamala was (by all accounts), and thus is an American citizen by birth.

Changing that at this juncture (namely, from jus soli to just sanguinus) would require a Constitutional amendment.
