None of your lengthy response lessens the fact of your making this straw man argument: “So your point, I guess, is that every American is free to drive away from a police stop because of the one in 10 million chance the cop is an impersonator?”
It is not a “strawman argument.” We can’t tolerate drivers who just decide to ignore lawful police commands because of some claimed irrational fear. This officer was wearing a uniform shirt with “POLICE” emblazoned on it; he was driving a MARKED car; the car had blue/red police lights that were activated; he was wearing a police belt with a gun and other equipment on it; and the stop was in an area with houses, not some remote desert. 99% of the time, these driver/idiots cause the entire problem. I’m not saying that the officer couldn’t have handled it better, but I don’t know all of the facts b/c the video is edited. This idiot driver was lawfully stopped. She was driving an unregistered car. She refused to hand over her license, reg., and insurance information. She refused to get out of the car when ordered to (lawfully). She drove away from the scene. And then she again refused to exit the car after being ordered to multiple times.
