THEY SHOULD BE DEPORTED, INCLUDING THE H1B. This is a scam that needs to stop!!!

Take a look at LinkedIn and search "recruiters" and filter for the US. Most are Indian. And look at their details, most arrived in past few years. WHEN HAS THEIR EVER BEEN A SHORTAGE OF AMERICANS TO WORK AS RECRUITERS?!

many of the ‘recruiters’ are actually recruiting from India. they don’t need to come here to send you an email.

Isn’t an H-1B visa a ‘dual intent’ visa where the holder can apply for permanent residency?

Yes, there are both. The ones in India are easy to spot because of the poor VOIP calls. But others are actually here and there is absolutely no excuse for that.

Without those cheap H1-B programmers the outfit hiring them will move away from US or outsource the work or go bankrupt.
It is better for the economy to have outfits operate here inside USA. That creates jobs for people who maintain buildings, property tax for city and county, and additional tax revenue for the Treasury. Moving business abroad is lose-lose proposition.

H1B is a nonimmigrant visa. Indians try to twist that into the concept of dual intent.

NO IT IS NOT!!! That sells out American workers, American students, and American companies. It is not different than saying that there are some jobs Americans won't do. That is a false lie. Pay a competitive rate and there is always an American to do the job.

And the risk of some businesses moving overseas, so be it. We have plenty of work for Americans, can tariff or make that offshoring financially bad, just as it is politically bad.

Lastly, if it is shifted offshore, fine, the H1B workers can stay offshore as well.

H1B is specifically for cases where a job exists that cannot be filled by a qualified American.

If a qualified American exists for the role then it is illegal for a company to hire an H1B worker.

Of course, who follows laws anymore...

Why would we let anyone ‘twist’ our laws into something they are not?

The first thing a H-1B from India does when they land here is bring the wife over on a tourist visa and impregnate her if she isn’t already. This gets you the anchor baby US citizen that guarantees you can get a permanent visa and ultimately dual citizenship. I worked in IT and saw this happen over and over until I was pretty much the last native born dude in the office. IT was great for a long time but then employers discovered India and the US jobs they did not eliminate with off shoring they eliminated with contract workers or H-1B. I would not recommend a kid get a STEM degree these days. Those jobs are all going third world. Find a career that cannot be offshored or easily automated. I made it to retirement but I never had a STEM degree. Got in early when demand was high for anyone with a brain and the ability to learn fast on their own. Those days in IT are long gone now. Anyway anchor baby followed by chain migration. It almost doesn’t matter if they close the border. Employers want cheap labor and will get it or ship the jobs overseas.

You are correct. I am a victim of this idiocy that keeps Americans from working. It has been devastating.

You obvioysly have never ran a business in United States as I have. Our business faced extreme competition from Japan. Every dollar counted to survive by eeking out a small profit. We were a manufacturing business building custom design machines for automotive and appliance industries. We did not need many computer programmers so did not need H1-B visa workers, but we hired a ton of craftsman from poland, Lithuania and Hungary. Because they worked for cheaper wages and were good workers. If we insisted only on American workers, we would close shop, laying off 700 American workers.

I started my first business in 1987. I’ve had my own businesses in the time since, often with as many as 20 employees. I’ve also been in executive management of companies with as many as 500 employees. I know very well the industry, the workforce, and our competition. You can argue all you want that cheap foreign workers and cheap foreign goods are better than hiring American and buying American, but you are wrong. 100% wrong.

You are new to FR. I’m not one to call out a noob, but you should recognize that this is a conservative site, I think most of us believe in Buy American, Hire American. If you are going to be pushing other options as you are in this thread—cheap imported labor and cheap products, you should be ready and able to explain why, with facts and not the worn out excuses of jobs Americans won’t do or that we want our cheap products.

This is why tariffs exist — to keep price stability within a country/currency/people without simply blockading all trade.

If (as globalists desire) everyone must compete for work against the entire planet, but the only jobs worth anything are concentrated in the industrialized West, then labor is degraded and inevitably the condition ushers in a new oligarchic feudalism.

Since the globalists aren’t stupid, they know this, want it, and of late openly say so, along with other niceties like wanting 90% of everyone gone.
