The Democrats did change the game. Trump is probably trying to reset for a different opponent. He does seem to be struggling.

It may not gain votes but it certainly helps maintain votes. Exposing these shenanigans is important to maintain the optimism of Trump voters who become disheartened when they see the support these two communists are receiving from ignorant (of the horrors of socialism/communism) Americans. This exposure helps keep things in perspective.
I do agree the campaign itself has more important matters to tend to, and I would prefer that exposing these Democrat/Communist Party tactics is better left to social media, but I disagree that this matter is simply "silliness".
