Can ‘two-tier Keir’ unite a fractured Britain?
The Telegraph ^ | 10 August 2024 | Gordon Rayner and Abigail Buchanan

Are the riots truly over? It might be too soon to tell, but if this week's citizen-led efforts have indeed quelled the unrest, it hasn't necessarily bolstered public confidence in Sir Keir Starmer's ability to prevent future incidents.

Critics argue that the Prime Minister has already alienated many by "choosing sides." At a time when the country needs unity, the leader who took a knee in 2020, even after the Black Lives Matter protests turned violent, has instead created division.

Some accuse him of "hiding behind" the notion that the unrest is solely the work of far-right extremists, rather than addressing the underlying issues fueling some of the protests. Increasing numbers of MPs and peers from various parties are urging the Government to recognize and address legitimate and deep-rooted societal problems, yet Sir Keir has shown little willingness to do so.

On Thursday, Sir Keir visited a mosque in Solihull with Shabana Mahmood, the Justice Secretary, to provide "necessary reassurance" to the Muslim community.

Meanwhile, residents of white working-class communities—whose opportunities are among the most limited in the country—are asking when Sir Keir will visit them to listen to their concerns.

What’s the UK Reform party doing about this? They got more votes than the Tories, and should be working to overcome Labour’s tyranny.

The Destruction of Great Britain is the model being used for the USA today.

It is sad that patriotic citizens in the USA wont even fight back. J6 was just a false flag pageant performed by the FBI

It’s astounding really, the seemingly unhindered advance of evil these days...I suppose beginning in earnest in the 1960’s but strictly speaking it began in the Garden of Eden.

Was think recently how homosexuality was still taboo in 1970’s and now they’re proposing with no small amount of support to change the teachings of the Catholic Church. That’s quite a meteoric rise in power in 50 years.

And simultaneously tear it apart?

Interesting question.

The Monarchy has reserved powers it could use if it had the guts to stop all this. They could dismiss the government, appoint a PM. Elizabeth II stepped in twice used their reserved powers when Parliament was at political loggerheads. In theory the military first loyalty is he Monarchy. It could also be called out if that become necessary.

It’s interesting to me how the UK Labor Party follows the roads paved by the Democrats here. In the late ‘90s, you had Tony Blair follow Bill Clinton’s center-left “triangulation.” In the last 20 years, the Democrats have abandoned the white working class in favor of a new coalition of urban liberal elites along with racial minorities/immigrants. Now Labor under Starmer follows the same blueprint, and with their multiparty system, 33% of the votes is enough for his party to win big. The other difference, though, compared to America, is that the Trump-Vance wing of the GOP has pivoted to embrace the working class while the UK Conservatives are still stuck in a sort of Bush-Romney phase. UK Reform has seized the socioeconomic middle, but the result is simply a split with the Tories that allows Starmer and his ilk to sneak in. God help the native-born English.

Tories are going to have to figure out if they want to join the Labour Party or Reform UK. The Conservative Party will probably cease to exist because basically it's Labour Lite at this point.

....

Let this sink in for a moment.

Two of the highest offices in the UK run by non-English "citizens".

Nothing says "unite" like "two-tier".

If the monarch is the only hope then pray for William and cheer on Charles’s cancer. Because that cancer ‘s host is playing for the wrong team.

Starmer is just another Walz, two incompetent bumbling, and dangerous Socialists.

I don’t know if the monarchy is the only hope or not. The monarchial “reserved powers” exist for a reason. Something like what is going on is a “reason”. Whether its severe enough for that to be tried remains to be seen. If the parliamentary system is too fractured to resolve this, it might be the only legitimate action left. Such an action by the monarchy would either save it or destroy it. I think the Monarchy with its present players have it in the hands to decide its fate.

What difference does it make if he unites them? The party organs will say he did, and the Stasi police will arrest anyone who says or posts differently. The masses will be told and must accept that the country has settled down and is now united.

Is this why they refer to people from England as Slimeys?

King Charles is the Ayatollah of the UK.

Not so. Conservatives 24%, Reform 14% of total votes cast.

Are you implying that Starmer is ‘non-English’?
