The Harris Flop Would Be Scarier Than Her Flip
American Greatness ^ | Aug 8 2024 | victor davis hanson

Joe Biden won in 2020 on the premise that until the November election, he would pose as good ol’ Joe from Scranton and not scare voters.

So Biden talked about “unity” and “competency.” He erased his prior wild primary pandering to left-wing voters about shutting down fracking and opening the border.

But as soon as he was elected in 2020, Biden became the leftist veneer for a hyper-radical Obama third term.

Fooled and naïve voters were shocked that their supposedly moderate candidate turned into a veritable neo-socialist president.

In general, the left acknowledges that its spread-the-wealth, high taxes, big government, open borders, soft on crime, and woke DEI agendas don’t appeal to 51 percent of the people.

That reality requires disinformation for leftist policies to be implemented.

No one voted for the Biden-Harris ticket to borrow trillions sparking hyperinflation, to wage war on fossil fuels, to go woke, to welcome in 10 million illegal aliens, to abandon $50 billion in weapons to the terrorist Taliban, and to find America facing existential wars in Ukraine and the Middle East and soon perhaps over Taiwan.

But getting leftists elected requires fooling the American people into thinking their “moderate” campaign veneers will continue into their presidencies—even though they never do.

So, for now, Harris and her new vice presidential candidate, Tim Walz, will smother all their cherished left-wing positions—at least until November.

The two left-wing chameleons will assume the temporary identities and policies of “moderates.” That is a de facto admission that they know that the public does not want any of their true agendas.

Ping! Out to the Victor Davis Hanson list

Harris is utterly incapable of articulating a coherent thought without a teleprompter or a staged interview. Walz is a buffoon who, in his first speech as the nominee, screamed out the “couch” lie about J.D. Vance and then stupidly bragged of his falsehood.

Ouch! But Prof Hanson nail;s another one.

Walz, like Harris, has done his best to stop pipelines and curtail fossil fuels.

He once boasted that “Democrats go into depression” when they see electoral maps shaded in red, “but it’s mostly rocks and cows that are in that red area.”

Apparently, his advice for Democrats was just to win urban areas and don’t sweat alienating greater rural Minnesota regions where fewer voters live—a blueprint for their 2024 campaign.

A very good article by VDH.

America’s biggest failure was not eliminating all Democrats after Americans won the civil war.
I suspect that mistake will not be repeated after the next civil war.

I will admit that this administration has been a surprise to me.

I almost cannot believe how easily the work of Donald Trump could be undone - or even that it would be. Who would not want to be in charge of energy independence, peace and the lowest unemployment ever?

I still marvel that Trump accomplished what he did in so short a time. The rapidity of destruction must be compensation for 4 years of Trump. Someone was damaged by America’s prosperity, and that can only be China.

10 million per year maybe.

“Harris and her new vice presidential candidate, Tim Walz, will smother all their cherished left-wing positions—at least until November.”

Since Harris is out today talking about an arms embargo on Israel, it seems this prediction is already wrong.

I say they know they’re likely going to lose one way or another, so that’s why they aren’t really bothering with the old “triangulation” strategy.

An item of rebuttal.

The US faces no existential wars. Not in Syria. Not in Ukraine. Not in Taiwan.

None of these threaten the existence of the US.

A pro Russia govt could be installed in the Ukraine tomorrow and nothing would be different for the US than it was prior to 2014.

Taiwan’s govt could go totally pro CCP and the money flowing into Taiwan for chips would not decrease one penny, with the chip totals into LA’s port the same as today.

Syria’s govt would not change at all if the US stopped funding the opposition, and this would certainly have no effect on US existence, tough it would de-stress Euro govts enduring the pressures of Syrian refugees.

My gut tells me that Walz will not be the VP candidate in another 60 days or less. There’s just too much flak even for a democrat to overcome. I don’t know if there has ever been a case of ONE of the TWO dropping out of the race but I feel it happening.

Ross Perot picked Admiral Stockdale to be his VP in 1992 and that failed...That ticket should have been a winner - neither had the baggage of the Harris/Walz ticket. My husband and I attended a rally at UCI when Ross Perot was on the campaign trail. We didn’t think the younger set was paying much attention but our daughter and her boyfriend (high school kids) showed up to sit with us.

Look what we ended up with and we’re NEVER going to be rid of THEM..

So, for now, Harris and her new vice presidential candidate, Tim Walz, will smother all their cherished left-wing positions—at least until November.

The main player in smothering left-wing political realities is corporate media. From now to election day, corporate media will lionize Harris/Waltz and demonize Trump/Vance. This is nothing new!

I've said many times, our "biggest" problem is not the democrat party but corporate media/networks and our education systems - these entities facilitate/allow the gaslighting of our people. If/when they become objective institutions, liberal/communist/socialist democrats will disappear.

Seems to have been a popular theme at the time but only opinions.
