Tropical Storm Debby Intermediate Advisory Number 8A
NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL AL042024
800 AM EDT Sun Aug 04 2024
...DEBBY EXPECTED TO STRENGTHEN RAPIDLY BEFORE LANDFALL IN THE
FLORIDA BIG BEND REGION...
SUMMARY OF 800 AM EDT...1200 UTC...INFORMATION
Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 140 miles (220 km)
from the center.
If Debby moves just a few miles to the left we’re going to get soaked. So far, the winds seem modest but the rains seem heavy. We’re in a good place that drains well right into the bay.
I’m sure this has been posted on these threads before, but I’d missed it. Wife just showed it to me. It’s 13 years old!

1m vid, funny!
Yes... VERY disturbing. Here we are, still moving in, and with no experience on how to deal with this. Doing our best to prep. We may get the heck out of here if it looks like things will get really bad. Then again, we feel we need to stay if there's any damage to our house...
I don't like the uncertainty of the storm path. An official from Chatham County, GA (Savannah) just said the rainfall amounts predicted for this area are so unprecedented... "This could be a 1,000 year storm."
We could use rain here where I live, north of Harrisburg PA.
I’ve watched storm after storm track either north or south of us all summer long.
The trout stream in my back yard is woefully low.
