We serfs can content ourselves with owning nothing and being happy, while eating bug protein from Bill Gates.

Progress, ever forward

If the average person is priced out of flying, there won’t be enough people flying to support the current aviation system in America.

There will considerable consolidation of carriers and fewer of them.

With technology, there is less of a need for corporate travel as years ago.

It’s logical, if the overall number of people flying drops considerably, the number of aircraft needed to carry them will be reduced as well.

15 minute cities.
They told us the plan.

...while being happy in our 15-minute cities, watching our betters fly over on the way to and from their privileged destinations.

At least there’ll be fewer annoying female “travel bloggers” posting selfies on Instagram.

Why we need teleportation portals in every home now.

That’s the idea.

Can’t have freedom to travel for the unwashed. They’re harder to control that way.

I suppose they meant someone is murdered every 15 minutes in those cities.

Our goose was cooked as soon as woksters invaded upper management of airline companies, and particularly government agencies.

Then "they" decreed that Co2 (of all things) was the boogeyman.

Basically, we're screwed.

Exactly, and not enough demand for aircraft to support all the current manufacturers.

I guess we could all travel by ship staying in steerage.

Priced out of flying? C’mon...that’s only a small part of what Western Maoists have in store for we “little people”! We’ll be priced out of protein...health care...heat...water...

Think of the ripple effect of pricing the average American out of flying, not only would the aircraft manufacturers have to cut back severely, think of all the side businesses that would be devastated, aircraft mechanics, aircraft parts suppliers, workers at airports, flight attendants, pilots, etc...

Return to bow flying was in the 70’s might not be such a bad thing.

“decarbonisation” is pure fraud. Airlines that exploit it will go bankrupt.

I guess by then it'd be too late to demand they use electric-only planes.

Flying in the 1960’s was comparatively a lot more expensive than it is today.

Nowadays I hear a lot of folks lamenting that we should go back to the Golden Age of flying, but that kind of luxury doesn’t come cheap.

You want to fly on what is basically a Trailways Bus with wings, then don’t complain that it isn’t as luxurious or as “exclusive” as it once was. You want the “masses” to be able to fly cheaply, you get to ride on a cramped bus with wings. You can’t have it both ways.

I hate flying, have not done so for about five years till this past week. Wow, including the TSA now taking face photos for our protection, to seats that are about the size of a sardine can, to the single narrow aisle on most planes making a trip to the head a nightmare, it is less than pleasurable experience. Apparently, no curb side check in, now it is self service at least on American plus a per bag fee. I fondly recall travel on wide bodies with actual metal utensils and free flowing wine. Nada today. Yeah I know, I could have taken out a loan and flown first class but I decided to not do that so it is all on me.

I say this from perspective of someone with over 1MM miles over 50 years.

The one positive was the flights were basically on time, except for one connection while we waited for a captain to show up on an incoming flight on another aircraft. At least his name was Bill and he seemed normal as he was chatting up one of the female attendants before blastoff.

“At least his name was Bill and he seemed normal as he was chatting up one of the female attendants before blastoff.”

Reminiscent of the good ol’ days when the pilots were horny buggers and there were pretty stewardesses. Now ... just eeeewww re the “attendants” — fat mean women, and guys who are light in the loafers.
