Information about the "order to assassinate" might have gone with her, but her instructions to those who carried it out (whether actively or passively by simply looking away from certain vulnerable areas) are still with the agents involved.
Heard Thomas Baker, author of The Fall of the FBI, speak last night. He spoke of changes from the time that he was there that allowed confusion and failure to occur and that thus tend to lead to conspiracy theories. People from the audience mentioned these theories but he of course could not say whether they were right or wrong.
He spoke of the days when all agents carried a little copy of the Constitution with them. A dedicated public servant. I haven’t bought the book yet (they ran out of them I think) but will this weekend.
