On the one hand I feel back for Carini and the situation sucks, sure. But I have to be perfectly honest, after that abomination they called an opening ceremony, if I was in her shoes and was told I would be boxing a man in the ring “because political correctness,” I would have packed my bags and went to the house—gold medal be damned.
You know, I keep hearing crap like this, but you didn’t train and put in hours of your life to achieve something. Only for it to be snatched away at the last minute by some BS ruling that you had no control over.
These 2 men were banned from competing last year. There was no reason to think this would suddenly change. You say they should just quit and walk away, but would you really?
This was your dream and to have it literally ripped away by this BS is heartbreaking. The ONE sport who should have ensured that no men are allowed is the about the only one to let them compete.
Maybe after watching this farce of watching men beating women as a sport will finally put an end to this insanity.
