Former lawmaker and failed secretary of state candidate Mark Finchem may be heading back to the Arizona Capitol, as early election night results show him leading in his bid to knock off state Sen. Ken Bennett in a northern Arizona legislative district.
Initial election tallies show Finchem with a margin of more than seven percentage points over Bennett, a lead of nearly 2,000 votes.
Finchem spent a decade in the legislature representing districts based in Pima and Pinal counties in southern Arizona. But last year, he moved to Prescott to take on Bennett, following an unsuccessful bid in 2022 to be the state’s chief elections official in 2022. Finchem lost the race to Democrat Adrian Fontes by 120,000 votes, and later unsuccessfully contested his loss in court.
Finchem has built his political brand on election denialism, spearheading a failed lawsuit against electronic tabulators with Republican Kari Lake. The courts have determined the case was frivolous and have sanctioned their attorneys

Gloria sounds angry.
I wonder how much the Mexican cartels pay Gloria to write angry pieces like this propaganda?
She’s a walking Burrito 🌯
Election denialism is a Democrat biased description. Is actually election integrity.
Joaqim Jeffries is an election denier. So’s Hillary Clinton.
Ken Bennett is another in a long list of once respected politicians who seem to have went over to the dark side
Makes you wonder whether something is happening behind the scenes to draw pols to the dark side or whether they always were on the dark side and we just didn’t know it
Ken Bennett used to be good guy, but lately turned week.
In AZ senate, Republicans hold slim majority of one and lot of bills were blocked by Bennett.
There were always debates of how to get Bennett vote with the rest.
And, his district is purely Republican!
Congressmen in swing districts sometimes had to vote the wrong way to stay in business, but Bennett had no such excuse.
That one woman testified to the Arizona Senate that every important official in Arizona is under the control of the Sinola drug cartel.
Explains perfectly all the nonsense we have been seeing in Arizona.
We live in Bennett’s district. A friend who has known Ken since they were kids called him and asked him why he was voting with the Democratcs. He told her she just didn’t understand how things work in politics. His opponents this round: Finchem or Zipperman, a CA lawyer. Zipperman ran against Bennett the last time. Finchem has been painted a “carpet-bagger.” I’d rather have Finchem than a wimp.
I met Bennet few times and he always sounded good.
Well, he was even secretary of state (I think) once.
But, then, suddenly he started voting with Democrats half of the time.
Maybe they have something on him?
Nobody could understand that. ???
Well, it looks to me like Bennet does not understand politics!?
I met Finchem few times too, and, honestly, I have never been too impressed with him, and yes, he is sort of carpetbagger.
But I take him over the “NEW” Bennet every time. At least he predictably votes with the rest!
Mark Finchem impresses me as being arrogant. I’m co-chair of Republican Women of Black Canyon, LLC in Black Canyon City. I’ve invited Mark to come speak here. He’s keeps blowing us off. He said his polling numbers were so good, he didn’t need to campaign here. He is arrogant, but the other 2 were not options for me. I voted for Mark Finchem. At least he’s a fighter.
Some people describe him as lazy!
But you right, he was the only option.
After all that man has gone through, he deserves a good, solid victory.
GOD BLESS YOU, MARK
