Commander's Palace in New Orleans has a dress code. Coat and Tye must be worn. And dresses. They don't kick people out for dress violations, they won't let you in.

Commander’s is the only reason I ever have a coat and tye in NOLA. Sunday brunch is legendary and the turtle soup is the one by which all others are judged by. No coat needed at Willie Mays also a must stop when in town sadly a fire has them temporally closed. Right in the area is Dooky Chase another don’t miss.

Not any more. I’ve been in Commanders Palace without a tie and that was 20 years ago.

I looked up their dress code online

Business Attire

Jackets are preferred for gentlemen

Collared shirts and closed-toed shoes required for gentlemen

No shorts, flip-flops, t-shirts, sweat shirts or sweat pants

Jeans are discouraged; ripped jeans are not allowed
