An attorney for the Democratic National Committee has reportedly submitted a public records request to the Florida Division of Elections, seeking details surrounding the division’s official approval of a state Reform Party affiliate earlier this year.
According to the Miami Herald on Friday, the request was initially submitted by the attorney in May but has gone unanswered by the Florida Division of Elections. The specific details surrounding what information was requested by the party was not disclosed.
That same month, the Reform Party announced that it had endorsed the independent presidential ticket of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Nicole Shanahan at its national convention, intending to place the ticket on its Florida ballot line. The party regained its minor party status in Florida, along with ballot access, shortly afterward. However, according to the Herald, Kennedy is not yet on the ballot until the campaign submits its electors by the August 24 deadline.
