Not sure I really take Justin Amash's Never Trump communications director or Megan McCain's opinion as gospel.
JD Vance is totally correct in his statement but Halberg does make a valid point that his comments can be unintentionally polarizing to women who want and are having a hard time having a child so it is a bit of a previous comment that can be cast as an unforced error
It’s not simplistically about ‘child’ and ‘child free. His intent and meaning obviously was ‘those with no concern beyond their lifetimes’. People who got offended should lighten up and wise up.

Sounds just like those "seminar callers" who call conservative talk shows and say things like, "I trudged through snowdrifts walking precincts in New Hampshire for Barry Goldwater, but I can't stand Trump because he spews so much hate."

Wrong. It’s true that a comment like this isn’t going to do a thing to change my vote. I’m a conservative & a traditionalist & am OK with gender differences. This sort of stuff does affect the choices of centrist voters- men & women. It shouldn’t. There are so many more important things to concentrate on, but we don’t get to decide other people’s factors for determining who they vote for. It’s a reality that we are going to need that group of voters in order to win a ny election. It’s stupid to write them off. If we lose, that will be why- too many of us don’t choose to take it seriously 🙄
