Rumors of Trump suffering buyer's remorse after choosing Vance as his 2024 running mate have been rampant since President Joe Biden dropped out of the race and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the likely Democratic presidential nominee.
While Trump has publicly insisted that he is happy with Vance, saying the senator is "doing a fantastic job" and has been "very well received" by the public during a Fox News interview on Thursday, worries remain about whether the Ohio senator could be a liability for Republicans in November.
Paul Begala, who served as White House adviser and chief strategist during Clinton's successful 1992 campaign, suggested during a CNN appearance on Thursday night that Trump may decide to ditch Vance in favor of former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley.

Trump awoke on Sunday morning crushing it in all the battleground states. Crushing it in Nevada. Leading in Virginia. Tied up in Minnesota and New Jersey. He was looking at a very real possibility of a >400 EV election victory.
And then two hours (and two tweets) later the entire election map was reset.
If you can't feel the vibe shift, I don't know what to tell you but I feel like I'm watching a football game where the Democrats scored four touchdowns in the fourth quarter and now Trump is only ahead by two points. The Dems have possession and they're almost in field goal range with 30 seconds left on the clock.
Exactly. There is zero chance of this happening, absent an epic meltdown by Vance or a bombshell disclosure. Neither seems likely. First, he has a short track record, so he hasn’t had time to accumulate skeletons in the closet. Second, his background - thanks to his book and movie - are probably more well known than any VP candidate in history. It is all out there - warts and all.
If anything I expect we will see dozens of skeletons emerge for Kamala from her 3 decades of public service.
If this is real then Begala knows somebody inside the Trump camp. What are the odds of that?

This is true. Fumbles all the time! But she only needs to throw one completion to be able to kick a field goal.
And, for the record, I still think this is Trump's race to lose. He's still ahead. Kamala is terrible.
But one thing that has definitely changed is the media. While they hated Trump, they've been absolutely brutal towards Biden ever since the debate fiasco with every major media outlet, including the New York Times, telling Biden he needed to drop out.
They will not treat Kamala this way.
