I hope he escapes. Japanese whalers are as bad as Chinese fishing fleets in skirting the laws and treaties. They claim the whaling is “scientific research”. And that whales are killing the marine ecosystem by eating too much plankton. Total bullcrap.

I agree. I used to make fun of him and his crew till I started thinking about it. These guys are putting their asses on the line to try to stop the killing of whales. I haven't done anything like that.
And the Japs calling it scientific research is like the dims using "science" for their global warming garbage.

The Whale Wars live threads were some of the most fun I've had on FR. The captain and crew of the Sea Shepherds made the Skipper and Gilligan look like Lord Nelson. I was rooting for both sides to lose, but for the Sea Shepherds to do it in a Darwin Award winning way.
