When hundreds of thousands of auto industry jobs were being lost to “automation” and robot assembly devices in the 1980s the phrase went around “if enough of us lose our jobs and are broke, the companies can get robots to drive the cars they make. We can’t afford them.”
Coming true, especially with self-driving cars.
