If the FBI was in fact covering up the presence of “assets”, after determining through their intelligence gathering there was another independent scheme for an assault on the President, then the reliability of their investigation is completely tarnished and probably not worth the value of the paper used in issuing the report. The “plausible denial” aspect is badly disrupted.
