A Tennessee store clerk was allegedly caught on surveillance footage celebrating after he stole a customer's $1million lottery ticket.
Police say the lucky winner purchased two winning Diamond & Gold scratch-off tickets from a Shell gas station in Murfreesboro...Patel then allegedly paid the unidentified Antioch father for the $40 ticket, and told him the other ticket lost and threw it in the garbage - when in reality it was actually a $1million winner, News Channel 5 reports....What he apparently did not realize is that lottery officials vet all of the major winners - including by checking security video from the store where the tickets were purchased....

I will say, if you’re too stupid to be able to know if your scratch-off is a winner or not and you need Patel to tell you if you won, maybe you shouldn’t be playing scratch-offs.
Apparently, Patel is the only person who can own a convenience store.

YES! Two big lessons- SCRATCH OFF the ticket yourself, and SIGN IT before redeeming it. In fact, I would take it directly to the local lottery office to redeem.
The lottery corporation looks for reasons to not pay you, but if they can’t a reason to not pay you, they will pay you.

How do I know? I actually read the article........Sheesh!
I saw it was a scratch off. I just thought for that kind of pay out, they’d want a signature. I don’t play the lottery very much.
