Maybe you do not like the law, but it is what it is.

This attitude is why bad, unConstitutional, laws stay on the books for so long. It runs absolutely contrary to everything the Founders expounded at length about. Up to and including committing Treason against their rightful King.

Unless Crooks had be adjudicated mentally defective and remanded to his parents care, it is absolutely an apples-apples comparison.

Even if my Daughter were to take a firearm from my house, it in no way makes me culpable for her actions. Period. No different if she were to borrow a car and get in an accident.

If they KNEW, and did nothing... Then that in itself is a crime and they should be prosecuted.

If they had a suspicion, absent proof, that is not enough...

I have a ton of suspicions about a lot of people. Actual evidence? That is still required...

If you find someone spouting Marx’s idiotic drivel about “need”, you’ve found a commie regardless of whatever else they call themselves.

That’s what I’ve been saying all along! It seems “true” Libertarians are a rare as hens-teeth, at least those who are visible. Perhaps the real ones aren’t very vocal and stay low-key.

My original comment was about an exchange with a Marxist who claimed to be a “libertarian” and their temper tantrum towards me for laughing at him when he definitely outed himself.

Dude You are projecting things into my posts I never said.
Repost my post and show me where I tried to absolve the traitor of blame. Asking if the parents should have done a better job of controlling the legally owned weapons is not absolving the dead shooter
I also said back then that Adam Lanza’s mother was culpable. That case nor this case has Anything to do with the actual legal owning of guns.

Possible. Other than posting here and a couple of other places, I tend to mind my own business. I tried getting involved in the Party back when Harry Browne was still alive. If you think GOP infighting is bad... The "no true Scotsmen" thing is alive and well... at least it was.

It's a regular hot button topic here with a number of trollish detractors hence my hair trigger.

What an Ahole. It was His rifle. He is culpable. I hope they charge him

Your very first post on this thread. This clearly states that the Father is to blame and not the potato-head.

You are, of course, entitled to your opinion. I am presenting mine.

What you do with this info from here is up to you.

If someone has a 20 year old and they find it looks like he took the AR, for the parents to actually call the cops at that point can ONLY mean they did not trust him. Its not just that their troubled son took the AR, its the timing.

What timing is that? You mean due to Trump being in town? If so, again, it would clearly mean they didn't trust their son and perceived him as being a threat to Trump. No?

Thank you.Exactly.
I did not say the shooter traitor was not to blame did I? No I did not. Why do you persist in interpreting it that way?
Can more than one person be culpable?

No worries, Amigo. I’ve gone off with both barrels based on presumptions a time or two myself. I appreciate your candor and your endeavor to find understanding.

The “kid” had a history of threatening violent attacks on schools. The parents had to be aware of this, yet the father let him take the rifle, unsupervised.

I’m not going to make a snap judgement. I HOPE we get more info. However, it looks rather ugly.

Thank you for that info. I did not know it. Yes it is and looks ugly. The Shooter took the shots. There is still info we don’t have but the father is the one responsible for securing his own weapons

The father handed the kid the rifle so “securing the weapon” is irrelevant.

I just read the info on the shooter threatening the school
Scary stuff. That alone should have made the father more careful about securing his weapons properly.
Thanks for reminding that the shooter was a known whacko.

He handed the rifle to his son. “Securing his weapons” is irrelevant.

The question I have is: If he believed his son was not (or “no longer) a threat to public safety, who (if anyone) declared the son emotionally and mentally sound enough to handle a rifle at all, let alone unsupervised.

Yes, they knew their crazy son was a threat to Trump based on the timing of when he took the AR (i.e., the day of Trump’s rally).

It it turns out accurante and dad called that day, timing and Trump had zip to do with it as they obviously knew their son wasn’t right long before Trump ever scheduled his rally in Butler.

Biden Vows to Push Supreme Court Reform in Final Months in Office
https://www.theepochtimes.com/.../biden-vows-to-push...
“Over the next six months, I’ll be focused on doing my job as president,” he said, highlighting key goals such as boosting economic growth, lowering inflation, ** tightening gun control, and safeguarding the planet from what he described as a “climate crisis.”**
While President Biden has resisted pressure from the progressive wing of the Democratic Party to adopt measures such as imposing term limits on Supreme Court justices or packing the high court with additional justices, he did create a commission to examine possible Supreme Court reforms, including ending lifetime appointments. Ultimately, the 34-member commission did not endorse adding seats to the high court and took a neutral stance on term limits.
Darry Allen Sragow, a Democratic political consultant, told Reuters he was surprised that President Biden mentioned Supreme Court reform in his Oval Office speech.
“In a sense, that came out of nowhere, he didn’t have to put that in the speech, but the fact that he mentioned that suggested to me that in his mind, for the future of the country, this has become a high priority and what he is presumably referring to is the recent decisions coming out of a Supreme Court that is dominated by very conservative justices,” Mr. Sragow said.
