Washington — Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle is testifying Monday before the House Oversight and Accountability Committee about the security failures that allowed a 20-year-old gunman to open fire on former President Donald Trump and a crowd of his supporters at a rally more than a week ago.
Cheatle has come under significant pressure to resign in the aftermath of the assassination attempt, in which Trump and two others were injured and one rally attendee was killed.
The FBI identified Thomas Matthew Crooks as the shooter, and he was killed by a Secret Service sniper. Lawmakers have questioned how Crooks was able to gain access to a rooftop so close to where Trump was speaking at the campaign event in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer told Cheatle directly that she should resign, saying that with her at the helm of the Secret Service, it is questionable whether the president, first lady, White House and presidential candidates are safe.

Sometimes the witness offers information unconsciously. Or outright lies which would point to persons or ideas which control them.I wish it was a place where the unhelpful witnesses could be immediately fired, removed from the setting, and sent to trial with harsh penalties imposed.
The Democrats have mastered their power usurping technique of just doing what they want to, on purpose , and lie about it. They are the tapeworms of government.

What... the picture shown starting at 2:10 on this video isn’t enough for you?
Question... Am I the only one who finds it odd how far away the gun is from his body?
Hearings like these are useless because they are designed to showcase politicians, so they can pretend to be doing something. The process is designed to collect gotcha soundbites, not uncover the larger truth and fixing institutional defects.
The politicians running things are almost all lawyers. They know what they are doing is a farce, and that the proper methodology is to question numerous witnesses out of the public eye (though on camera), using one or two highly skilled professional interrogators to pose the questions, with no time limits or opportunities for obstruction by other politicians. Questions should move back and forth between the big picture and details that seem peripheral and insignificant — until the mosaic fills in and the truth emerges despite the witnesses best efforts to hide it. The answers lead to better questions and identify who else needs questioning. Etc.
The top dogs of failed agencies have every motive to cover up their failures, are trained stonewallers, and don’t know much about their own operations. Much better to examine an array of underlings who can report what they “witnessed” the organization doing.
My two cents — apologies for running on.
If I were Director of the Secret Service I would have gone to the assassination site IMMEDIATELY, and I would have demanded and obtained all the answers IMMEDIATELY, certainly within a week of the assassination.
To do otherwise is utter incompetence.
She obviously does not understand her responsibility.
An extremely important question is this: Why was such a person allowed to become and to serve as Director of the Secret Service?
And another: Why wasn't she removed from her position IMMEDIATELY?
The rifle appears to be one with a handle. I can’t see what type of sights it has. Or if was indeed an AR-15. Or if it has a silencer.
Here is the rifle that was used to kill JFK:

The one used to kill MLK:
RFK, Lincoln and attempted assassination of Ford and Reagan:
Why no official picture for this one?
She is doing exactly what she’s been told. You can forget contempt of congress as it’ll never cause her a second notice. Get used to it. This is the best you’re going to get. Mayorkas, Wray and Garland will be even more insultingly obstinate. They shot Trump. You know it, I know it, they know it. There’s nothing the pubbies can or will do about it but whine and fundraise off of it.
Excellent points...
“I have never seen the politicians so united, so clear in their questions and appraisals, to logical, so determined to discover truth and so effective in doing so.
One cannot help wondering if it’s because their own personal security is at risk.”

I had the same exact thought. The hearings were very interesting, especially the way she infuriated the committee. The woman is an actress. They could have hired her for The Bourne Identity.
.
For those who want to waste their time listening to lies and non sequiturs this is probably better than a 5 second loop of all of Kamala Harris’s most intelligent sayings. Otherwise I’ll wait until some presstitute sums it up. I’ll make my predictions now: lies and evasions.
The woman is a Garland/Mayorkis puppet who is following their orders and not respecting the American people she serves.

Well, definitely a better picture of the gun in this footage....
Yes I saw this earlier today and it certainly does look like an AR. The magazine side is facing the camera so we can’t see if it had a scope, red dot/holographic or iron sights.
In today’s world we should know by now exactly what the gun looked like.
Too much secrecy, and perhaps the powers that be want us to suspect others were involved.
DPMS AR-15 5.56 purchased by father in 2013. ID’d early on.
Oddly, have not seen an actual clear photo of the murder weapon, or seen a ID of any enhanced sites.
I did hear it was a DPMS POS (I had a 1994 gun ban one I sold back to the dealer glad to get rid of it).
Still no word of optics or lack thereof, oncly conflicting accounts.
