The July 13 rally was announced July 3. The campaign internally may have known about it only a few days before because, remember, the debate was June 27. So any preparations for a hit only had 2 weeks to prepare.
The guy lived in the area. Shipping in a more skilled guy would have been wise, but with only 2 weeks very difficult. This guy, living local, already knew the venue.
Hard for me to envision orchestration beyond a general understaffing of Secret Service personnel assigned. That could be purposeful and aimed at an attempt somewhere along the trail. But not this Pennsylvania event. There just wasn’t enough time.
One thing many are missing is that the SS on-site leadership knew there was a potential shooter on the roof 10 minutes before Trump went onstage and did not warn Trump nor did they prevent him from taking the stage. The counter snipers even took pics of Crooks. This is much more than incompetence and is criminal negligence. In other words, they let the guy take 7-8 shots before deleting the threat.
Original site for rally was the same place as the other rally, at airport. That site had some sort of car show planned for airport and the second site was chosen. I believe they had 5 days to set up the new site.
