Making it politically impossible for him to object? But what if in his “address to the nation” later this week he comes out swinging and says he is retracting this false report? He would never see daylight again.

He wakes up and Jill gives him the news about his announcement....

“Joe, you just forgot. You signed the letter agreeing not to run again.”
“What...No way. I am a fighter.”
“Here is your signature.”
“What a lousy forgery job. Looks like that (bunch of expletives deleted....) guy did that.”
“It is done. It is all over CNN, MSNBC, the New York Times, even the Scranton newspaper has the story.”
