The illusion of safety provided by the current DEI force of malevolent fools was obviously more dangerous to President Trump than if he had hired his own group of competent individuals. The Presidential bodyguards, AKA the secret service has a long history of incompetence going back to the Lincoln assassination. This is another example of history repeating itself.
