I live in Sarasota County too.
Many areas look like New Jersey but with stucco and palm trees.
The zoning in the county was set without taking into account its relative affluence.
Also, 12 units per acre meant garden apartments in the 1960s. Nowadays, developers put up and sell what they call villas.

I was born there .
We watched Siesta , Lido , Long boat and Casey get destroyed .
The fact Dem demon Stephen King lives on Casey makes me ill . The fact they allowed building on midnight pass made
me realize these developers owned everyone .
John McDonnell's novel Hurricane is based on the massive Condo over
development of Siesta Key .
He wrote the novel in his writers unit at Jamaica Royale on Siesta Key .
It was a lovely place .
